Steam village Simpelveld

Steam village Simpelveld Bocholtz, one of the two parishes of Steam village Simpelveld is a quiet village at the gateway to the hills. It forms a natural bridge between the green hills with lovely rural landscape of rolling hills and meandering river valleys on the one hand and the bustling Park City on the other side.

Park City is characterized not only as living and working and shopping area.

There are also major attractions like Snow World Landgraaf , the award-winning Zoo Gaia Park Kerkrade Continium discovery centre, Mondo Verde World Gardens in Landgraaf, residential boulevard and Kinderstad in Heerlen, Hoensbroek Castle. The Pinkpop Festival annually takes place ad Megaland in Landgraaf. Go to our linkpage for hyperlinks to the major attractions.

The hills on the other hand are the National Landscape status of South Limburg.

You will find many small attractions and an excellent walking and cycling environment. Behind every corner awaits a different landscape. Beautiful scenery, typical "lattice" buildings. It provides your best pictures. The landscape invites you to relax. Terraces, exuberant taste of local products, fresh air refueling.

In between you can visit the crossroads of the three countries; The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Make a ride with the steam train from Simpelveld to Valkenburg; make good shopping in Maastricht or take a sporty bike ride on one of the many cycling classics like The Amstel Goldrace.

Not for nothing that we live in the State of South Limburg National Landscape.

International South Limburg is centrally located in Western Europe. The three countries in Vaals the landmark for our cross-national character. Through the centuries, Limburg was ruled by various princes. The roots of the residents are often in distant lands. Many have Spanish, German or French ancestry. Limits are exceeded quickly. |It is for its multilingualism that the Limburger is wellknown.

In short, South Limburg is an ideal base to experience in Aachen the German “Gründlichkeit”; in Liege want means the French laissez-faire and the hospitality from South-Limburg. Three countries, three cultures, connected by National Landscape South Limburg and the woods and high moors of the Eifel and Ardenne
