Challenging hills rise proudly to be climbed; unexpected vistas to be discovered. The typical half-timbered houses of the region show a cute Limburg landscape. The black-and-white cow colors beautifully against the greens. Lovely streams meander through the valleys. In short, a landscape where you as a cyclist or walker cannot stay away.

Gillishof is the base for cycling and hiking through  Limburg. You can park your car for free on our spacious grounds. We understand that you are careful with your bicycle. You can reserve one of our lockable bicycle sheds and you can wash and dry your dirty bicycle and hiking equipment in our central service area. You can clean your bicycle or walking shoes at our hosing down area.

Centrally located in the transition area of the mountainous hills and the flatter landscape around Parkstad, you can set out both flat and steep routes from bicycle accommodation Gillishof. Day trippers as well as trained mountain bikers and racing cyclists can enjoy a satisfied ride. Larger cycling events such as Limburgs Mooiste, the Amstel Goldrace and the round of Heerlen are also easily accessible from the Gillishof.

Hiking

Starting at Gillishof, hikers can take that different route through the pristine border area at Orsbach towards Lemiers and Seffent. An unexplored area where you will encounter little traffic and other hikers. Stop at Bellevue in Orsbach and enjoy the overwhelming view and the delicious home-made “Kuchen”.

After a satisfied ride or trip, you can relax in the courtyard of Gillishof with a beer and a BBQ. In the village you will also find a terrace and simple restaurants within walking distance.
