Why  Napoleon’s suite?

Napoleon’s regency marks a turning point in history for our medieval Gillishof farm. All ecclesiastical property was confiscated. This meant that the farm, after having been in the possession of the German Knight’s Order for 100-dreds of years, was suddenly sold by auction to a private individual. Tenants became owners. For the current residents of Gillishof, more than 200 years of lease history have now been added to more than 200 years of ownership history. More than 400 years of family history on the spot. A fact that the family is rightly proud of.
